The Match has to be played within 2 weeks of the start date for that round.  Match play is a head to head competition, and delaying the match can disrupt the integrity of the competition.  If the Match is not completed by the deadline, we will have a method to determine the winner.  Remember that each person has to comprise to accommodate each other’s busy schedule and the time and day they can play.  There will be no exceptions a match has to be played within 2 weeks and if NOT a winner will be determined.

RULES

Black tees – head to head competition no strokes given.

White/Red Tees

Allowance:  The higher-handicapped player receives the full difference in Playing Handicap between the two players; the lower-handicapped player plays from scratch.

Example: A player with a Playing Handicap of 17 receives four strokes from a player with a Playing Handicap of 13. The player receives them on the first four allocated handicap-stroke holes.  Exception Country Meadows has new score cards which the rcommended handicap holes are updated and not the same for women and men.  If a woman is getting 4 strokes she would take them on 4, 7,11 and 13.  If the male has the higher handicap and is getting 4 strokes he would take them on 4,2,12 and 13

You can concede a hole or the entire match to your opponent (or opponents) in match play. You can do that at any time. Normally it's when you concede a stroke on the green, a "gimme" putt. Once a concession is offered, it cannot be withdrawn, nor can it be declined.

As indicated a valid handicap is required to participate.  To establish a valid golf handicap in New Brunswick a player needs to post scores from a total of 54 holes played. This can be achieved through any combination of 18 hole or 9 hole rounds.  For example three 18 hole rounds or six 9 hole rounds.

There will be a poster up at Country Meadows when the match is completed please update the poster with the winner and if required the person who did not win the match would move to the consolation round.

A information sheet will be sent to each player which will detail the phone number(s), email address (if possible).  With today’s technology there should be no reason why someone can not get in contact with someone else.  If at any time you can not get a hold of that person please let Shelley Thomas know and she will try and if no reply within the 2 week time period a winner will be determined to move on to the next round.

If you have any questions regarding this Match Play Event please contact Country Meadows or Shelley Thomas at eastcoastopenings@icloud.com or leave a  message at the club and she will get in contact with you.
