Gentlemen, the new season is upon us and we will be soon playing those illustrious courses around the southern part of New Brunswick on Thursday mornings in the Hub Senior Tournaments.
Men who are 50yrs of age or over are more than welcomed to enter and play in these 2 man scrambles every week. I am hoping that we will have a few new members this year.
If you are new member or one who has reached that magical half century age or older than, I would like to explain a few rules of how these tournaments work.
The first thing is that these tournaments are for fun and to meet other golfers from the other courses who participate in these Thursday morning outings.
The format is quite simple; you need a partner and sign up on the bulletin board no later than Monday at 6pm of that week. There will be a list showing where we are to be playing that week and if you wish to compete all you have to do is enter your name, telephone, handicap and yes or no in the Electric cart column and your done. I will be giving you a call on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest telling you your tee time. If you wish I can send you an E-mail if you supply me with your address, in stead of calling.
Your partner does not have to belong to our club or any other for that matter. So if you know of someone please sign him up with you on our bulletin board. If you do not have a partner but wish to play, then we will try to match you up with somebody who is in the same situation as you.
You do not have to play all the tournaments only the ones which you and your partner wish to enter. The cost is yet to be determined for this year but normally it is $20 to play per person and if you want or require an Electric cart than it is $20 per team.
So you will have a lot of fun and meet new people and hopefully make a few new friends for $30 at the most per outing.
The following is a list of courses which we play (each twice) during the season.
St Ignace, Bouctouche, Pine Needles, Lakeside, Maplewood, Country Meadows, Memramcook. We also play Magnetic Hill and Sackville (each once) during the season.
We normally played Burro Hills in Hillsborough (twice per season) but I am not sure if it will be opened this season or not, due to their financial difficulties.
If you require any more information you can contact me through the golf course or send me and E-mail at glennbolivar@hotmail.com. I will be happy to answer your inquiries.
